Replacing or sharpening the blade on the AC-1 circle cutter

When it dulls, the blade on the AC-1 circle cutter can be replaced or re-sharpened. We sell the replacement blades on our website and they are ordered on the same page you would order parts for your button machine.

To replace or resharpen your blade, you must first remove the blade from the cutting arm which is just to the right of the number 4 in the photo below. The blade is held in place with a C-clip. To remove the blade just remove the c-clip, pull of the blade and when ready simply replace it with a new blade or with the old blade after it has been sharpened. Then simply put the c-clip back on and you're ready to go.

Sharpening the blade

To sharpen the blade yourself, simply run both sides of the blade across a whetstone (used to sharpen knives), just as you would to sharpen the blade of a knife. When sharp, put it back on the adjustment arm of the cutter and reinstall the c-clip.
