These programs are described below.
"DESIGN,
PRINT & CUT"
With
our "DESIGN, PRINT & CUT" service (DPC for
short), you can have us design the artwork for a button, print
it on one of our high-quality digital color laser printers, and
then cut the designs, so you don't have.
DPC puts our graphic artists, printing resources, and
high-speed cutters at your disposal and allows you to focus your
time on making buttons... and making money.
The various aspects of our DPC program are described below.
DESIGN - Why struggle to create
a design for your button when you can have our graphic artists
create one for you. (if you already have a design, you can have
us use it and still take advantage of the next two features of
the DPC program).
PRINT - Have us print the designs for your button on our
high-quality digital color printer.
CUT - With this program, we will cut the designs for your
buttons, so you don't have to. For many customers, this feature
alone is worth the price.

As a button-maker,
one of the most troubling situations you will ever face is when
a valued customer --one you really want to hold on to -- asks
you to do buttons in a size you are unable to do, or presents
you with an order that is so large you don't believe you could
finish it in the time you would have.
At Dr. Don's
Buttons, we currently produce buttons in nine different
sizes and we can handle orders up to 50,000 pieces. With our
services, you might be able to accept the order from your customer
and save the relationship you've worked hard to develop.

Design, Print & Cut Can Save You Time, Money
& Effort
The
savings possible with DPC fall into three catagories...
time, money and effort.
If you are busy, time or effort might be the most important factors
for you. With DPC, you save both time and effort by having
us design your button and then cut the designs, so you don't
have to.
Money might be an important factor if you were going to out-source
the design and have someone else do the printing. In that case,
DPC could save you lots of money!
Graphic artists typically charge $50-100 an hour for their services,
and usually with a one hour minimum. Printing charges vary, but
let's say it cost $75.00 to have a design created and another
$75.00 to do the printing.
A total of $150.00 for both the design and printing.
After that, you still have to cut all the designs.
If you were able to cut an average of five designs per minute
using your circle cutter, it would still take nearly 3-1/2 hours
to cut the designs for 1000 buttons.
I don't know about you, but I would much rather spend time making
buttons than spend it cutting designs!
Pricing
We offer our DPC program two ways; with a simultaneous
button parts purchase and without a simultaneous button parts
purchase.
As you can see from the table below, there can be a considerable
savings if you purchase DPC along with button-making supplies.

Details
DPC includes up to 1/2 hour for our graphic arts department
to create your design. That's usually enough time to create a
design if the instructions we receive from the customer are clear.
Time beyond the first 1/2 hour is additional.
If possible,
it's a good idea to fax us a rough sketch that shows what you
want your button to look like and what text you would like to
have on your button. Doing so will help us better understand
what you are looking for and reduce the likelyhood that we would
need additional time to complete your design.
We will then
create a prototype design, based on the information you provide,
and then post that prototype design to a private area of our
web site for you to view. You can then take a look at the design
and give your approval, or have us make adjustments, if needed.
As soon as you approve your design, we will print it, cut the
number of button images you need, and ship them to you right
away.
Clipart
or Logos
If
you wish, you can have us include a logo or clip art in your
design. If you need a special piece of clip art or a logo, you
will need to provide it. (If you need a piece of clipart, you
can go to www.clipart.com and see if they have
what you need. If you find something you like, write down the
item number for that piece of clipart and let us know what it
is, so we can use it.)
While we will
finish your design as soon as possible, this program is available
on a first come - first serve basis. What this means is that
if our graphics department is swamped when you place your order
order, it is possible that there could be a short delay before
we can create the artwork for your order.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. I'd like to take advantage of the "DESIGN, PRINT
& CUT" program. If I made a simultaneous purchase
of 500 pinback button sets and 500 magnet-back button sets, would
those purchases allow me to get 1000 button designs printed?
A. As long as the supplies that are purchased are the
same size and the printing is done in that size, then yes, that
purchase would qualify for 1000 designs.
