Making buttons with the Model 225 is unbelievably easy!
To make a button with the Model 225, simply place your artwork and button supplies into the appropriate dies on the button machine, pull the handle down twice, and in a matter of seconds your perfectly formed, professional-quality button is made!
So easy to use, a six year old can operate it In the video below, watch as Benjamin Singel, who was only six years old, makes a button in only 20 seconds, using the Model 225 button machine his family purchased from Dr. Don's Buttons.

Make buttons anytime / anywhere Since the Model 225 doesn't require electricity and is small enough to fit in a child's lunch box, you can take it along with you and make buttons where ever you happen to be. Just imagine all the places you'll be able to take your button machine and make buttons.
Rugged dependability The Model 225 button machine is made of solid-steel, while Badge-A-Minit's line of inexpensive button machines are made of plastic (or a plastic-like compound).
How buttons are made The following is a description of what actually takes place when a button is being made.
As you push down on the handle of your button machine, the button design and mylar covering are pulled taut over the face of the button, and the edge of your artwork and mylar covering are tucked up underneath the front of the button, in much the same way sheets are tucked up under the mattress when you make a bed. The back of the button is then pressed into the front and the edge of the button must be crimped tightly, as it is the crimping action that holds the button together.
Why button machines that are made of steel are so much better than ones that are made of plastic or aluminum
Model 225 Button Press
with built-in, solid-steel dies
When you are making buttons, mechanical energy travels from the muscles in your arm into dies of the button machine and it is this energy that provides the force that crimps the edge of your button. The Model 225, which is made of solid steel, facilitates the transfer of mechanical energy far more efficiently than button machines that are made of plastic or aluminum are able to.
And that's why carpenters use hammers that are made of steel... not plastic or aluminum.
Buttons made using the Model 225 will have smooth, tightly crimped edges. They won't exhibit the "poor quality issues" that are so common to buttons that are made using plastic button machines; issues like paper and plastic sticking out the sides of the button, button edges that are rough and serrated, or buttons that fall apart in your customer's hands because the edges weren't crimped tightly.
Over time, all button machines made of plastic will bend, warp and break, rendering them unusable. When this happens, Badge A Minit will replace the broken piece. But if you're in the middle of an important job, you're out of luck until the replacement piece arrives, which could end up being weeks, since you must return the broken piece before they send you a new one.

Creating great looking buttons is incredibly easy, when your using Dr. Don's "Online Button Design Studio"
1 Month for $9.95 / 3 Months for $19.95 / or 12 Months for $59.95
Creating great-looking designs for the buttons you want to make doesn't have to be expensive, time consuming, or complicated.
And it isn't when you're using Dr. Don's "Online Button Design Studio".
Unlike traditional software that is loaded and used on a single computer, you can access the Online Button Design Studio from any computer, which means you can design buttons at home, at work, anywhere you have a computer and an Internet connection.
The Online Button Design Studio is made up of four powerful design modules; the "Curved Text Studio", the "Photo Button Studio", the "CD Template Studio" and the "Template Background Studio", all of which make it easy to create nearly any type of button you can imagine.
And each design module includes the feature every button-maker wants and needs; the ability to create curved text!
But that's not all!
The Online Button Design Studio also makes it easy to change typestyles, change the color of your text, and if you like, even give your text an exciting glow effect.
You can make your text larger, or smaller. You can increase or decrease the amount of space between your letters.
You can create and/or delete text fields with the click of a button and you can save your designs so you can work on them again, or print your designs at a later time.
Photo Button Design Studio The most popular module in the Online Button Design Studio is our Photo Button Studio. Use it to make photo buttons (with or without text) or use it to create buttons that include a single piece of clipart or a logo.
you can upload templates from any of our Button Design CDs and add text before sending them to print.
After you've created a design, you can then select which size button you would like to make and the Online Buton Design Studio will properly size your design and add a cut line. It will also position as many designs as possible on an 8-1/2 x 11" page and save it as a .pdf file. You can then easily print all your creations using Adobe Reader (a free program) or any program that can open and print .pdf files.
And the best part is that even with all its many advanced design features, the Online Button Design Studio is still incredibly easy to use!
We even created a Demo version of the Online Button Design Studio, so you can try it before you buy it and test out all it's powerful features.
To try the DEMO version of the Online Button Design Studio, click here.
The Online Button Design Studio can create designs for all of the following button sizes: 7/8", 1", 1-1/4", 1-1/2", 1-3/4", 2", 2-1/4", 3", 3-1/2", 6", as well as Badge-A-Minit size 2-1/4" and 3" buttons.
The Online Button Design Studio is compatible with both Windows and Mac, but it does require that the Flash plug-in, which is a free download from Adobe, be installed in your Internet browser.
Please note: Since the iPad or iPhone do not use the Flash plug-in, the Online Button Design Studio cannot be used on either of them.

Circle cutters... for cutting the artwork for your buttons
Dr. Don's AC-1 Circle Cutter
Dr. Don's Punch Circle Cutter
Since cutting the artwork for your buttons is such an important part of the button-making process, I wanted to provide you with information that will help you choose a cutter best suited for your needs.
For most customers, I recommend the AC-1. It's less expensive and can do things the punch cutter cannot.
(The AC-1 can cut multiple designs with one pass of the cutter blade while the punch cutter can only cut one design at a time. This feature can save you lots of time whenever you need to cut lots of designs).
The AC-1 does its cutting by means of a rotary blade that is safely housed inside the body of the cutter so it can't cut anything you don't intend to cut. The AC-1's blade sits at the end of a cutting arm that is fully adjustable. This feature allows the AC-1 to make the cuts for buttons as small as 1-inch, as large as 3-1/2 inches, and any size in between.
To use the AC-1, simply place the metal cutting plate (that comes with the AC-1) on a table and place your printed artwork on top of the cutting plate. Position the AC-1 over your artwork and center it. Then push down and turn the handle to cut your artwork into a perfect circle.
The AC-1's rotary blade will stay sharp far longer than any straight-edged cutting blade (such as those used in Badge-A-Minit's circle cutters). The AC-1's rotary blade will not only give you better cuts, it will cut thousands of designs before it will need to be replaced.
If you wish, you can even re-sharpen the AC-1's cutting blade. To do so, simply remove the blade from its adjustment arm (it's held in place with a "C-clip") and run the edge of the blade over a whetstone, as if you were sharpening a knife.
For customers who prefer not to resharpen their blades, replacement blades are only $7.99 each.
What our satisfied customers have to say about the Model 225 button machine
One of the best ways to learn about a product is to hear from people who have actually used that product.
Below are testimonials from satisfied customers regarding their own experience with the Model 225:
I received my new Model 225 yesterday, just as you promised.
As soon as I opened the box I knew it was a winner! Not a cheap plastic "scrap producing" badge maker like my Badge a Minit kit, but a solid made "professional" button maker.
It is so easy to use, even for the whole family. I was cranking out top quality buttons minutes after taking it out of the box. The scrap rate on my other system was about 25% The only scrap I've made with the Model 225 is when I tried going too fast and left out pieces.
Right now I am in the process of remaking my current stock of Badge a Minit products... so I can can give my customers the quality they deserve.
The cutter you provided is also a gem!
Thank you for answering my e-mails and talking with me on the phone leading up to making the decision to buy the Model 225. As far as I am concerned you saved my business.
My creativity and your machine... the possibilities are endless.
You can use me as a reference any time. Tell your customers to drop me a line. This is a great product at the right price and you are great person to deal with, too.
I just bought the Model 225 about 10 days ago! I loved it so much, I stayed up until almost 2 a.m. tonight just making buttons, buttons and more buttons. The amazing part is I HAVE NEVER MADE A BUTTON IN MY LIFE!!! It was so RIDICULOUSLY EASY, that I could see a future in a small business I know I'd enjoy.
I can't wait to get this Model 300 SX for 3 inch buttons. I am a bus driver, and the potential to make some REAL CASH is just staring me in the face. HURRY, HURRY, HURRY and send my Model 300 SX machine!!!
P.S. I love your website, too. So friendly and helpful!!!
I have been so pleased with the service from your company. Your
staff and your products far and away exceed my expectations.
I would recommend your company based on your service alone, but
the quality of your (model) 225 machine is unbelievable!
I am having so much fun with it because it is so easy to use!
I am a middle school band teacher and we were selling buttons
as a fundraiser this spring using the old BAM hand press, and
I had to have 6 or 7 students after school to make the buttons--and
make them slowly. The machine broke in the middle of the fundraiser,
so I ordered your 225, and my students were as amazed as I was
with the ease and quality of the machine. To make buttons twice
as fast as the BAM, I only needed 1 student after school with
your machine-- and they all wanted to be the one to stay!
You machine is easy and fun-THANKS!
Well, things were very exciting here this afternoon.
First I got to leave work early. Then I arrived home to find
my new button machine (Model 225) had arrived!
First things first. My daughter and I unpacked it all, and then
we cleared off the dining room table and started making buttons.
My first order was already placed and paid for a week earlier,
now I could actually fill that order.
With me running the circle cutter, and my 16 yr. old daughter
making the buttons, we had the complete order of 200 buttons
made, and stickered in under two hours.
It was simply amazing!
We were almost arguing over whose turn it was to make buttons.
So, after the initial few buttons we started timing ourselves,
and Dr.Don, I can make 5 buttons in one minute! My daughter did
3 in one minute.
This is such an improvement over that old Badge-A-Minit puny
hand press, I now don't know what I'm going to do with all those
buttons I made with it. The quality of those Badge-A-Minit buttons
doesn't even come close to the ones I just made with your machine.
There is no way I'd let those Badge-A-Minit buttons out of this
house with my logo on them!
And out of those 200 made, I only lost two, yes two, to mess
ups. And they were totally my fault. I did not put the parts
in correctly, and of course that won't work. ( I had the pin
back part in wrong side up.)
This is a great deal less than I lose with the "other"
Please feel free to use any part of this letter as a testimonial
on your site, if you choose.

Hi Dr. Don,
I just wanted to share with you how much I love your button maker (Model 225).
We had purchased a button maker the year before. It took four adults to figure out how to use it, and sometimes as long as 30 minutes to make a button!
I saw your web site when I was browsing. Your button maker looked so easy, and you said I could return it if it wasn't as easy as it looked.
Well we just made over 300 buttons... I showed my 4th grade son how to cut out the circles and make the buttons. Within 5 minutes, he was better than I was...
Thanks for having a button maker that even my 4th grader can use and make great looking buttons.

Then, if for any reason you aren't completely satisfied, you can return it for a full and immediate refund (less shipping).

At Dr. Don's Buttons, we don't charge a restocking fee... and we don't need to, because customers who try our button machines seldom ever return them!
Hopefully, this will lead you to wonder... if Badge-A-Minit's button machines are so good, why do they charge a restocking fee when we don't?
