Our Model
300 SX is semi-automatic button machine. Made of solid-steel,
it can produce up to 5 professional-quality 3" buttons in
a single minute!
If you've ever
struggled to make buttons using one of the inexpensive Badge-A-Minit
button machines, you're going to be in for a very pleasant surprise
the first time you make buttons with our Model 300 SX.
That's because the Model 300 SX is both fast... and easy
to use!
To make a button, using the Model 300 SX, simply place
your artwork and button-making supplies into the machine, pull
the handle down twice and in a matter of seconds your perfectly
formed button is finished!
(To see just how easy it is to operate our Model 300 SX, click
here ).
Never again will you need to settle for buttons that have paper
or plastic sticking out the sides, or make excuses to your customers
why their buttons fell apart because they weren't crimped together
tightly in the first place!

The
Model 300 SX makes four different types of buttons
The Model 300 SX is versatile and can make four different types
of 3" buttons without using any adapters.
It makes pin-back buttons, magnet-back buttons, key chain buttons,
and mirror-back buttons.
Creating artwork for your buttons
Just about any graphics application can be used to create
the designs for your buttons, and you can print your designs
using any ink jet or laser printer.
Special paper is NOT required... regular copy paper and ink jet
paper will work just fine.
Photo buttons
If making photo
buttons is of interest to you, you should know that one of the
biggest differences between the Model 300 SX and either
of the Badge-A-Minit 3" button machines is that the Model
300 SX can make professional quality photo buttons using
photographic prints, like the ones you get from a photo lab.
Badge-A-Minit
button machines don't work well with heavier photographic prints
and to use them in one of their machines, you must cut the image
to the face of the button, which then leaves the silver sides
of the button showing.
And if you
are not successful in"trapping" the photo in the middle
of the button, your image will be off-center .
To make photo
buttons with the Model 300 SX, you simply cut your photograph
just as you would the artwork for any other type of button, insert
the button parts, push down on the handle just a bit harder than
you normally do and the result will be a perfectly formed photo
button that has smooth, tightly crimped edges.
Make buttons anytime / anywhere
Since the Model 300 SX doesn't need electricity and
is small enough to fit in a child's lunch box, you can take it
along and make buttons wherever you happen to be.
It's great for carnivals, state fairs and trade shows.
Why button machines made of steel make better buttons than
those made of plastic or aluminum
Unlike the inexpensive Badge-A-Minit machines that are made
of plastic or a plastic-like compound, the Model 300 SX
is made out of solid-steel.
And while it is obvious that steel is more durable than plastic
or aluminum, button machines made of steel make better buttons.
Consider for a moment what must take place every time you make
a button.
Quite simply, making a button involves the transfer of mechanical
energy.
It begins as your arm pushes down on the handle of the button
machine and then travels through the machine (and its dies or
assembly rings) into the button parts, which are themselves made
of steel. The button design and mylar covering must be pulled
taut over the face of the button and the excess material of the
design and mylar covering are tucked up underneath. The back
of the button is then pressed into the front and the edge of
the button MUST be tightly crimped if the button is to stay together.
Being made of solid-steel, the Model 300 SX is able to
facilitate this transfer of mechanical energy far better than
button machines made of plastic or aluminum.
This is why carpenters use hammers that are made of steel...
not plastic or aluminum!
Buttons made with the Model 300 SX will have smooth, tightly
crimped edges. They won't exhibit the poor-quality issues that
are common to buttons made using plastic machines. Issues such
as buttons having rough or serrated edges, or buttons that fall
apart because the edges weren't tightly crimped)
Circle cutters
Since cutting the artwork for your buttons is an important part
of the button-making process, a discussion about circle cutters
will help you better understand the process of how buttons are
made.
We currently offer two types of circle cutter... the AC-1 circle
cutter and the Punch Cutter.
For most customers, I recommend the AC-1.
The AC-1 circle cutter does its cutting by means of a rotary
blade that is safely housed inside the body of the cutter. The
blade sits at the end of a cutting arm that is fully adjustable.
It is this feature that allows the AC-1 to make the cuts for
1-inch buttons, all the way up to buttons measuring 3-1/2"
inches in diameter.
To cut your artwork with the AC-1, simply place the metal cutting
plate (that comes with the AC-1) on a table and place your artwork
on top of the cutting plate. Position the AC-1 over your printed
artwork, center it over your artwork, then push down and turn
the handle to cut your artwork into a perfect circle.
The AC-1's rotary blade will stay sharper longer than any straight-edged
cutting blade (such as the ones used in Badge-A-Minit's circle
cutters). This allows you to make better cuts and cut thousands
of design without having to change the blade.
It is also possible to re sharpen the AC-1's cutting blade. To
re-sharpen it, simply remove the blade from its adjustment arm
(it's held in place with a "C-clip") and run the edge
of the blade over a whetstone, just as you would if you were
sharpening a knife.
For customers who prefer not to resharpen their blades, replacement blades are only $5.00 each.

30-Day Money-back Guarantee
If you try the Model 300 SX button machine, I'm certain you
are going to love it!
That why I offer customers the opportunity to try the Model
300 SX for a full 30-days, without risk or obligation. If
after using it, you aren't completely satisfied, simply return
it to us for a full and immediate refund (less shipping).
If you purchase a button machine from
Badge-A-Minit and then decide to return it because it doesn't
meet your expectations, they will charge you a 10% restocking
fee.
Yet, at Dr. Don's Buttons, we don't charge restocking fees...
and we don't need to.
That's because customers who give our button machines a try seldom
ever return them!
And hopefully this will lead you to wonder... if Badge-A-Minit's
button machines are so good, why do they charge a restocking
fee when we don't?

Badge-A-Minit, who charge a 10% restocking fee should you decide
to return one of their machines, at Dr. Don's Buttons we don't
charge re-stocking fees!
And that might
leave you to wonder... if the Badge-A-Minit machines are so good,
why do they need to charge a re-stocking fee if Dr. Don's doesn't?
The Model 300 SX is the perfect
button machine for schools, churches, print shops, or for anyone
who is looking to start or expand a profitable home-based
business.

Bob Shell,
editor of Shutterbug magazine, reviewed the Model 300 SX
and had this to say about it:
'...making the button (with the 300 SX) is the proverbial "piece
of cake"... nothing could be simpler'.
and here's
what he had to say about the AC-1 circle cutter:
"It's a very simple design and works very quickly and precisely."

about the Model 300SX button machine

Dr. Don,
I just want you to know that I made the cost of my button machine
(Model 300 SX) the first week!
I love making and designing the buttons, and everything is so
easy.
Thanks for your great website; you sold me and I am absolutely
well satisfied.

Barbara's Buttons
Dr. Don,
I bought the machine for my
teenagers to use several years ago. They made buttons for local
soccer team moms and cheerleaders. I have taken over their business
and I'm doing quite well. I'm very happy with my machine and
I tried to keep a friend from buying a BAM machine, but he did
anyway and has already quit (of course that means more business
for me)....thanks,
Beth (Bee's Buttons)
Dr. Don,
We LOVE the new machine (Model
300SX). We got it yesterday and used up all our button parts
last night. It is a joy to use after that dinosaur of a machine
we had!
Please ship the button parts we ordered the fastest way so we
can have more fun (and make more money for the kids)
Teresa Ivey
Dr. Don,
We Love our button maker! (Model 300 SX)
Thanks so much for your great
web page and all your great FREE offers and tips.
The children are using the
button maker to go to fairs and fundraisers to raise money to
do their X-mas shopping. It is a wonderful tool to teach them
about money management, business and profit ratios.
Thanks for making this so easy!
Barbara J.
